Nomination Categories

Purpose

To honor and recognize a CA male and female champion who has practiced CA under the most challenging conditions e.g. rainfall variations, challenging Policy environment, or labour challenges.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The nominee should be practicing Conservation Agriculture in Africa
  • Should be able to demonstrate the challenging condition under which they practiced.
    • Submission format
    • Submitting format shall be in a Video clip, U-tube video, with supporting documents like certificates of recognition, training in CA and photographs that depict your involvement in the practice.
    • Documents like publications where one has been profiled are acceptable.
Selection of Award recipient

Members of the awards committee will review the nomination documents prior to the selection process and subsequent communication and announcement of the winner.

This category will honor ONE CA Champion

Nomination Procedure

Nominations for the CA Award may be submitted by individuals, Organizations or regional bodies

Responsibilities of Nominator:
  • Contact Nominee well before nomination deadline to inform candidate that a nomination document is being prepared
  • Fill in online nomination form and upload the required supporting documents.

Note: Support from a community leader or head of an organization will strengthen the nomination.

Provide a brief (45-60 second) video describing your project or accomplishment. Videos will be included in the announcement video. Videos must be shared via an online downloadable link.

Purpose

To honor a Journalist and/or a Media House for their active contribution in raising awareness about Conservation Agriculture through Print media, Social Media, television and e-news portals

Eligibility Criteria
Journalist
  • Must belong to registered Media house in Africa.
  • Is a certified practicing Journalist.
  • Has contributed significantly to raising awareness about CA with objectivity and insight through articles, publications, and reports in both local and foreign media, talk shows documentary production.
  • The work has invoked debate, critic in the way CA is practiced in Africa.
Media:
  • Must be a registered media house in Africa.
  • Has consistently aired CA related News, documentary over the last three years?
Selection of Award recipient

Members of the Awards committee will review the nomination documents and will communicate to the successful applicant. All entrants will be acknowledged.

NOTE: This category will honor ONE Journalist and ONE Media House

Purpose

To honor and recognize an upcoming CA farmer. A farmer who has adopted CA, is practicing and has influenced other farmers to start CA.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The farmer must be practicing CA in Africa
  • Can be a Youth Farmer, a Woman farmer or an elderly farmer.
  • Should be able to demonstrate when they changed from conventional farming to CA.
Submission
  • Submitting format should be in a Video clip, with supporting documents like certificates of recognition, training in CA and photographs that depict your participation.
  • Documents like publications where one has been profiled are acceptable.
Selection of Award recipient

Members of the awards committee will review the nomination documents prior to the selection meeting. An award recipient must receive majority support from all members of the Awards Committee, who are composed of distinguished people in the field of CA. This category will award FIVE CA Farmer champions (selection will be, One CA farmer each from Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa, West Africa and North Africa)

  • Contact Nominee well before nomination deadline to inform candidate that a nomination document is being prepared
  • Fill in online nomination form and upload the required supporting documents.

Note: Support from a community leader or head of an organization will strengthen the nomination. Support should be in the form of a written recommendation signed with an official stamp and uploaded.

Responsibilities of Nominee:
  • Approve request to be nominated for the CA Award.
  • Forward approved request to: awardscongress@act-africa.org

To recognize and honor an Individual or Organization who has championed the cause of CA in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Has introduced the concept of CA to small holder farmers and the practice has been adopted by farmers.
  • Introduced a new or improved farming equipment that revolutionises the farming practice and reduces labour drudgery.
  • Has influenced Policy change on CA in African countries
